Ice Festival

On a frigid Friday night, Duke and I ventured to the Plymouth Ice Festival. It was 0 degrees. Bleh. But I love quaint, historic downtowns paired with twinkle lights and snow, and this ice fest was in precisely that. We stayed just long enough to see the displays, observe a couple of sculptors in action, eat homemade potato chips, and snap a couple of pics. It was neat watching the sculptors carve the displays. They were incredible!

Auto Show

We recently went to one of Detroit's finest events, or maybe its only fine event, the Detroit Auto Show. The displays of cars and flashing lights were exciting. We saw some cool looking cars and it made us think, why don't they make more attractive cars? I saw a sparkly, teal Mini Cooper and I loved it. How much more does it really cost to add a little sparkle? Maybe that sounds tacky. But I'm pretty sure a few bottles of glitter doesn't cost that much.

Why not make a car with cool designs?? People may get car sick from looking at this one.

This slogan really cracks me up. It made me realize how much I love my jeep though. Because my car slogan may be, "Jeep identity." Not as classy, I know, but Jeepie is a part of me. Duke always tries to rag on her but I won't have it. The drive to Michigan was a real highlight. She pulled us, along with 5,000 pounds of our STUFF. We went an average of 50 mph the whole way, but we made it. And her heater....so good.

White Trash Bash::Lake Powell

Exhibit A:

Lake Powell has forever been Jeff's favorite vacation. He says he still wishes he lived in Hanksville, Utah (population: 355) just so he could be closer to Lake Powell. He has asked me to consider homeschooling our future children and living at Lake Powell. I'll keep that in mind. Nonetheless, I love Lake Powell. I love sleeping under the milky way, early morning waterskiing, smore's at 10 a.m. and pink sunsets.

Peace, dad.

Memorial Day

For Memorial Day Jeff and I went to Downey, Idaho with his parents. It was a lot of fun. We had a family party in the house his ancestors built over 100 years ago. It's a beautiful house with many original decorations...thus a photo shoot was in order. I got pretty into it and Jeff humored me and participated as well.

Fon-doo doo doo doo

We went straight for the good stuff: cheese and chocolate. But we ate so much cheese we didn't even make it to the chocolate.  Swiss cheese and spicy cheese. I couldn't resist some individual pics...

 Then we took it outside for some croquet. The fondue came too.

This is sad. I played Jeff probably 15 times in croquet this weekend and I lost every time. oh well.
